WHAT WE BELIEVE
We are committed to the gospel of Jesus Christ
The gospel is the good news of God’s grace to the world. It is the true story of creation, the fall, and redemption, ordained by God and orchestrated through the life, death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ. Christ’s death is a substitutionary sacrifice to God for our sins. It satisfies the demands of God’s holy justice and appeases His holy wrath. It also demonstrates His mysterious love and reveals His amazing grace. Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and man. There is no other name by which people can be saved. At the heart of all sound doctrine is the cross of Jesus Christ and the privilege that redeemed sinners have in glorifying God because of what He has accomplished.
Doctrines we believe:
● The God of the Bible - God is eternally existing as one essence and three distinct persons (often referred to as the Trinity): God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, each of whom is fully God, yet there is one God.
● Revelation - God has made Himself known to the world in Jesus Christ, the Holy Bible, and creation.
● Creation and Providence - God created the world from nothing and governs all things, at all times, in all places.
● Humanity - all humanity is created in the image of God and possesses intrinsic dignity and worth.
● Sin - sin has fractured all things, leaving the world in desperate need of salvation.
● Salvation - salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
● The Church - the church is the body of Christ sent into the world to shine forth the glory of God.
● The Second Coming - Jesus Christ is returning to the world in the future to judge the living and the dead.
● Scripture - the doctrine of the authority and inerrancy of the Bible is that the God-breathed Scriptures are wholly true in all things that they assert in the original autographs and therefore function with the authority of God’s own words.
● Fear of the Lord - the fear of the Lord is the beginning of all understanding.
● Marriage - God ordained marriage as a lifelong union between one man and one woman. First instituted by God in the order of creation, marriage is the unchangeable foundation for human life and the family. Marriage exists so that through it, humanity can honor God through properly ordered and faithful intimacy. The husband and wife relationship serves as a symbolic picture of Christ’s love for the church.
